Welcome to theendoftheworld - A fun an engaging community wiki!

How this works

On our wiki page you will find all of the Topic Wikis. These wiki's categorize all of their children conveniently for you. If you want to look for a wiki about video games you can easily find them in /vg/ or maybe, if you're more of a cinephile you might try looking in /kn/. These wikis serve as your jumping off points to start building or contributing or reading or really whatever you want to do. Pick a topic and then click Add child page on the top right of the screen to get started on a new wiki!

Editing

Right next to the Add child page button, you will find the Edit page button. If you plan to work on wikis, this will lead you to where you want to go.

The Edit Tab

The edit page has everything you want to be able to write your wiki and customize it to your hearts content. It is seperated into three tabs: Edit, Files, and Style. The Edit page provides you with the tools to generate the actual text content and structural design of each page. After setting a title and optionally a description as well, it's time to get to the meat and potatos of editing with our editor console.

Markdown & The Editor

Pages are written in Markdown. Even if you don't know Markdown, it's nice and easy to pick up and you can visit the /getting-started/Style Guide to learn everything you would ever want to know about it! Even if you already write Markdown on a regular basis, you should check out that page since we have a few instances of The End of the World flavored syntax. To mitigate a lot of the Markup language pitfalls, a Toolbar can be found at the top of the editor which will handle most of the heavy lifting and generate the Markdown for you with just the click of your mouse. Take some time to familiarize yourself with that and don't hesitate to hoverover each tool to get a description! A more detailed description of all of the Markdown features can be found on the Style Guide, so reference that if you ever feel overwhelmed! At the very top of the editor, you will find the Preview tab, which will show you the rendered Markdown so you can see your changes in real-time as you edit. Select Write to go back to the editor pane. Below the editor you can optionally set a summary of your changes before you save. Any files uploaded will populate below the save buttons and you can click on each one to copy their markdown to easily incorporate them into the page.

The Files Tab

This is where you will go to upload files to a page. Pretty much every kinda file you could possibly want to upload is supported. If you do run into issues, refer to Feature Requests & Bug Reports to find the proper channels to report them. Images uploaded on the files page can be selected to be featured on the page, and will show up on the top right-hand side of the wiki page. Images will also be displayed at the bottom of a page in a gallery, and playable media will show up beneath that.

The Style Tab

Your one-stop shop to control the styling of a single wiki, or an entire tree of wikis. Here you can set colorschemes and backgrounds.

Hit Edit this page at the top right. The editor has a live preview that runs the same renderer as the published page, so what you see really is what you get. The Layout buttons insert positioning syntax around whatever you have selected.
